Invited to a “cannabis” consumption event in the breathtaking Muir Woods just north of San Francisco, Pamela Hadfield, co-founder of HelloMD, hiked with several other participants through the shade of Redwood trees and the promise of a relaxation experience.
The host was HMBLDT, a Northern California cannabis company that specializes in therapeutic vape pen products. According to HMBLDT, Humboldt County is home to some of the most complex cannabis strains in the world, which are rich in the healing compounds of major and minor cannabinoids and terpenes. The company also fosters strong relationships with local farmers for their product. For their innovative dose pen, they were voted one of Time Magazine’s Top 25 Inventions of 2016.
Hadfield goes on to describe her experience:
“The sound bath, a practice of sound therapy, a trend on the rise throughout California, was led by Danny Goldberg. Danny has been doing sound immersion for Stanford University’s Health Improvement Program as well as many yoga, wellness and spiritual centers throughout the SF Bay Area and Santa Cruz.
According to Danny, ‘The physiological impact of sound on the body, emotions and cognition is apparent. Through the vibrations of these instruments we experience an inner calm and deep relaxation that enables us to journey within and center.’ His sound immersive experience included large gongs and singing bowls.”
The guests were invited to try several of the HMBLDT products on hand and then lie back for a meditation and sound immersion. Says Hadfield, “After an hour of this incredible journey I felt both relaxed but also mentally alert. The cannabis sound bathing experience was a first for me and the pairing seemed so natural and obvious.”
HelloMD will host a similar event on July 30 in San Francisco. “Mindful Haven” will offer Ganja Yoga with Dee Dussault, guided meditation with Jaene Leonard and a sound bath experience with Rachel Dugas. This will be a cannabis consumption event with tastings from eight different cannabis sponsors. You can register on hellomd.com and buy your tickets on Eventbrite.com. Space is limited.
